Of course, there’s real news we could have done a strip on today. It’s not as if General Petraeus isn’t testifying before Congress this week, not like Democrats aren’t trying to stab the country in the back just when we’re finally turning the corner in Iraq. For that matter, it’s not as if MoveOn.org and Code Pink didn’t drop the mask of sanity (to the extent that they ever wore one) and reveal their true selves before Petraeus’s testimony, and during.
But then that’s why there’s “A Right Ringtail.” When times are uncertain, and the country’s future hangs in the balance, remember: you can always come to ARR for a cheap joke.
That said, I think this strip is somewhat timely, the value of congressional Dems’ contribution to the debate being about the same as what Happy Dog might leave on your rug.
